“Garlands" is the Cocteau Twins' debut album. Released in the early autumn of 1982, it was the only album they made with original bassist Will Heggie. Conjured in the unlikeliest environment from the strangest of material, the album is often hailed as rock music, though it has a noticably deep, heavy mood, verging on doom and gloom. 

Pressed for the first time in over a decade, “Garlands” is comprised of eight songs and it represents a year zero for alternative guitar music. Even now, it’s hard to believe these songs were written and recorded almost 40 years ago. To this day it stands proud, as a timeless artefact from an era where synthetic pop was all the rage.
