The milestone of post punk is back in its pure form. "Daydream Nation" was SONIC YOUTH's sixth album, their first double LP, and the last on an indie label before moving on to Geffen.

The record is widely regarded as a turning point, catapulting the band into the mainstream and proving that indie bands can achieve widespread commercial success without compromising their artistic vision.

In the present day, its status as a classic is well-documented: Pitchfork named "Daydream Nation" number one in the "100 Greatest Albums of the 1980s"; Spin awarded it number 13 in the "125 Best Albums of 1985-210"; at Rolling Stone it was good enough for number 45 in the "100 Best Albums of the Eighties" and number 328 in the "500 Greatest Albums of all Time". The American Library of Congress selected the album as one of 50 to be added to the National Recording Registry in 2006.
